Friday’s taping of “The Tonight Show” has been canceled while host Jimmy Fallon recovers from a hand injury.
NBC’s late-night talk fest confirmed the news via Twitter on Friday morning, telling followers Fallon is “totally fine.” Other reports, including Variety, said the incident led to a hospital visit and minor surgery.
Hey guys – unfortunately tonight’s taping has been cancelled due to Jimmy injuring his hand. He’s totally fine but we’ll be airing a repeat.

The 40-year-old was spotted out and about on New York City’s Upper East Side on Thursday evening, and stopped for pictures with fans at Scalinatella restaurant prior to his injury.

“The Tonight Show” is set for a two-week hiatus starting on Monday, giving the funnyman plenty of time to recuperate.
