‘The View’ Buries The Hatchet With Barry Manilow

It appears the feud between Barry Manilow and the ladies of the “The View” was short-lived.

Just days after it was announced his appearance had been cancelled on the morning gab fest, now it appears Manilow will join the gals after all.

On Wednesday’s show, Whoopi Goldberg announced the two sides had made nice after Manilow had asked the show to remove Elisabeth Hasselbeck from the panel during his appearance and the show subsequently refused.

“I know there’s a lot of talk and everybody made some peace and Barry will come and be with us at some time,” Goldberg told the audience. “It wasn’t yesterday, it won’t be today. It will happen in the future.”

Manilow, who is good friends with former host Rosie O’Donnell, had said he would only appear on the show if Hasselbeck was not present to be part of the interview session.

Following the request, “View” executive producer Bill Geddie joined fellow E.P. Barbara Walters on her SIRIUS radio show to discuss the ultimatum given by Manilow.

“He’s always seemed like a nice guy, but I don’t get him on this. We’re ‘The View,’ we have people with different opinions,” Geddie concluded. “You sit with one of us, you sit with all of us.”
