The Voice: Shakira’s Advice For Danielle Bradbery

Shakira knows a thing or two about gaining fame at a young age.

As a coach on “The Voice,” the Latin superstar shared her advice for Season 4 winner Danielle Bradbery – who took the title on Tuesday night at the age of 16.

“Stay grounded, be surrounded by your loved ones,” the Latin superstar, 36, told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman, when asked what wisdom she’d impart to the Texas teen. “I think that’s gonna be so important, you know, because it’s gonna get crazy.

“She’s about to embark on a crazy ride and probably the most fun ride of her life,” she added. “But it’s going to be very demanding as well and it’s very important to be well surrounded.”

Shakira got her start at an even younger age – releasing her first album before she entered high school.

“It’s cruel, I have to stay, ‘cause I started out very young,” she said, when asked if she believes Danielle is too young to get started in the music industry. “I started out at 13. When I was 13, I released my first album, and I started writing songs when I was 8. So to me, that’s all I know.

“Yeah, it would get crazy at times but, it’s been wonderful. I can’t complain,” she added. “I had a career before I even graduated from high school. And I think that’s gonna be her case.”

The singer, who gave birth to her first baby (with boyfriend Gerard Pique) in January, will take a break from “The Voice” for Season 5, but return for Season 6.

Shakira said her first priority when she’s finished with her current coach duties will be to relax with her son and her man.

“What’s first is the family. I’m gonna be spending some quality time with my baby and with my baby’s daddy,” she said with a laugh. “And then after that I’m gonna get into the recording studio for sure. I can’t wait to make some new music.”
