The Obama Administration is brie-nging back a tradition that dates back to the President Andrew Jackson era.

On February 22, 1837, President Jackson hosted an open house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to chow down on cheddar as he discussed current events with citizens and staff.

The White House is hosting its second annual virtual Big Block of Cheese Day on Wednesday, January 21 to give Americans the opportunity to communicate with key members of the Obama administration via social media.

“The West Wing” YouTube video features the actors calling Press Secretary Josh Earnest to coordinate the open forum.

Participants can log on to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr to submit questions using the hashtag #AskTheWH to chat with Dr. Jill Biden, John Kerry and more.

This will take place the day following President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address on January 20 at 9 PM ET.
