Tina Fey Wants Britney, Oprah, & A Show-mance With Peter Dinklage

With television finally returning after a strike hiatus, one of television’s best, Tina Fey of NBC’s Emmy award-winning “30 Rock,” is getting back to what she does best — making us laugh.

Access Hollywood caught up the writer-turned actress by phone recently and she gave us a glimpse of “what’s to come” for Liz Lemon and the rest of the wacky “30 Rock” gang.

Viewers can expect more romance hijinks for Tina’s character, Liz Lemon.

“Both of Liz’s former boyfriends, Dennis the Beeper King [Dean Winters] and Floyd [Jason Sudeikis] will be back briefly. And Liz does have a little bit of a pregnancy scare. She probably hooks up once every seven years, yet when it rains, it pours,” Tina told reporters.

Tina admitted her least favorite part of the show were the romance storylines which are constantly being pitched to Tina in the writer’s room. But there is one actor who she would enjoy getting intimate with on-screen. “You know who would be good?” Tina gushed to reporters. “Peter Dinklage. That guy’s awesome!”

The possible guest stars on the new episodes of “30 Rock” don’t stop with Peter Dinklage.

“I hope Edie Falco will be back. Tim Conway plays a very sweet TV veteran named Bucky Bright who used to be on a show in the ’50s called ‘Wagons Ho.’ He’s there to be a celebrity for a Republican Party rally that Jack [Alec Baldwin] is trying to organize. And Kenneth [Jack McBrayer] is very excited,” Tina said.

With the success of Britney Spears’ guest spot on CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother,” Access asked Tina about the possibility of the pop princess showing up on “30 Rock.”

“[We] usually we write a part first and then think about who would be good. If there were a part that was appropriate, I don’t think we’d hesitate to go with somebody like [Britney],” Tina told Access. “I worked with Britney twice at ‘SNL’ and she was very professional and nice.”

Pop stars popping up on Tina’s series wouldn’t be limited to just Britney. “I thought McBrayer did great in [Mariah Carey’s] video,” Tina said. “And yes, if there’s ever something that comes up that is appropriate for Mariah, I will be the first person to try to get in contact with her.”

Tina also welcomed a visit from the queen of daytime.

“I still want Oprah to play my best friend. I want to spend time with Oprah,” Tina told reporters. “And I don’t know what I need to do to make that happen.”

As for whether or not there are any upcoming semi-controversial “30 Rock” moments in store for fans.

“Actually, we do have a storyline coming up where Jack tries to enlist Tracy to be the new black face of the Republican Party,” she said.

Tina Fey and “30 Rock” return to NBC on Thursday, April 10.
