TNT Greenlights Sean Bean Spy-Drama Legends, From Homeland Producers

Sean Bean is returning to television in another spy-themed drama.

On Wednesday, TNT announced it had greenlit the actor’s upcoming new show — “Legends.” (He previously starred opposite Ashley Judd in ABC’s spy-themed series, “Missing.”)

Executive producers of the drama include “Homeland’s” Howard Gordon and Alexander Cary, and “Charmed’s” Jonathan Levin.

The creators of “Sleeper Cell” – Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris — will be the “Legend” showrunners.

“Legends” is based on the novel by Robert Litell.

The former “Game of Thrones” star will play Martin Odum, an agent working for the Deep Cover Operations division of the FBI.

Martin can transform into different roles for his job, but he starts questioning who he is after someone he comes across suggests he isn’t who he believes he is.

“Heroes” alum Ali Larter is also part of the series as Crystal Quest, a woman who has a past with Martin, and isn’t completely happy about his return to the Deep Cover Operations Division.

Other stars of the series include “True Blood’s” Tina Majorino, “The Practice’s” Steve Harris, “Revenge” alum and supermodel Amber Valeta, and “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’s” Lux Haney Jardine.

The 10-episode series will premiere on TNT in 2014.
