Tom Cruise, Lawyer & Jailed P.I. Sued For Alleged Wiretapping

Tom Cruise is being sued.

In paperwork filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, Michael Davis Sapir is suing the “Knight & Day” actor, along with his attorney Bert Fields, and jailed private investigator Anthony Pellicano, for allegedly wiretapping his phone during the course of a previous 2001 lawsuit that Cruise had filed against Sapir.

In 2001, Cruise had filed a lawsuit against Sapir for defamation. In that suit, Cruise alleged that Sapir was circulating to media outlets a false story that Cruise had engaged in a homosexual relationship. That suit settled in November 2001 with Sapir acknowledging that Cruise was not homosexual.

Sapir now claims in court papers, “Pellicano wiretapped Plaintiff in connection with, and during the course of, the Lawsuit…”

According to the current lawsuit, the “plaintiff’s claims against Defendants arise from Defendants’ intentional and malicious scheme and course of conduct of intimidation, harassment, and invasion of privacy…”

Bert Fields told Access Hollywood that, “The lawsuit is absolute garbage. Mr. Pellicano was never hired to work on the Plaintiff’s case.”

Sapir is seeking reparation damages of no less than $5 million.

Cruise’s rep is deferring all comment to Fields. Access has not yet been able to reach a rep for Anthony Pellicano. City News Service (CNS) tried to get in touch with rep for Pellicano, but was not successful either.
