Tom Cruise’s Advice To His Teenage Self

Tom Cruise is back on the big screen with his sci-fi action movie “Oblivion,” more than 30 years after he made his mark in Hollywood with films like “Risky Business.” So what advice would Tom give to his 18-year-old tighty-whitie-wearing dancing self?

Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson chatted with Tom, 50, at his Los Angeles “Oblivion” premiere, where he looked back on his 30-plus-year career.

“What advice would you give [your younger self]? What would you tell him, now 32 years later?” she asked.

“I’d just say, ‘Just stay the course,’” the star said. “I’ve always wanted to do this, my whole life. And I’ve never taken it for granted and I can honestly say that and it’s such a joy for me to be able to entertain people and make movies. And I think I would just say the same thing, ‘Stay the course man.’”

The actor arrived at his premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood hours early, where her met with fans and signed autographs – something Tom loves doing.

The actor met with so many fans that he “lost count” of how many autographs he signed on Wednesday night.

“It’s really nice. They’ll quote my lines. They’ll quote different lines and just say hello and some of these people I’ve seen for years,” he told Shaun.
