Tom Hiddleston Is ‘Very Happy’ With Taylor Swift: ‘It’s Not A Publicity Stunt’

Sorry,
conspiracy theorists — Tom Hiddleston insists he and Taylor Swift are the real
thing.

In an
interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, Tom squashed rumors that he
and the pop superstar are faking their new romance for attention.

“Look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are
together, and we’re very happy,” the British actor told the mag.
“Thanks for asking. That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.”

Tom’s not the only one defending the relationship.

On Wednesday, a source close to the couple told Access
Hollywood that their whirlwind courtship is meant to be taken seriously.

“It’s
not a PR stunt. It’s not fake. It’s real,” the source said.

Tom and
Taylor were first introduced at the Met Gala back in May, when the
“1989” singer was still dating Calvin Harris.

She and Tom
were caught having a friendly dance-off at the fashion event, and photos of
them kissing near her Rhode Island estate surfaced weeks later following her
and Calvin’s split.

After making
stops in Nashville, England and Rome, the pair has most recently been spotted
in Australia, where Tom is shooting the upcoming Marvel sequel “Thor:
Ragnarok.”

The
35-year-old is fresh off an Emmy nomination for his work on AMC’s miniseries
“The Night Manager,” but it remains to be seen whether Taylor will
accompany him on the red carpet for his big night.

“I don’t,” Tom said, when asked if he
knew who he was taking to the September ceremony. “I didn’t even know I
could. It’s 4 in the morning here! [Laughs]”
