“I’ve been a massive fan since I was even smaller than Jenna,” he continued, referring to the Doctor’s petite companion, played by actress Jenna Coleman. “Very excited.”

Tom called Mark’s script, “awesome.”

The British actor’s own series, “Da Vinci’s Demons,” which sees him playing a young Leonardo Da Vinci, airs Saturday nights at 9 PM ET/PT on Starz.

Currently, his character is hoping to travel on the high seas in a quest to rescue friend Nico (“Game of Thrones” alum Eros Vlahos), and obtain the Book of Leaves, which he hopes will put an end to the wars of men, like the one that just raged through his beloved Florence.
