Toni Trucks Sinks Teeth Into Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn & Made In Jersey Roles

With roles in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” and CBS’ new legal drama “Made In Jersey,” Toni Trucks is taking Hollywood by storm and the actress couldn’t be happier.

Access Hollywood caught up with the star just after her new CBS series premiered and just weeks before the final “Twilight” movie hits theaters – much to the delight of the rabid fans of the vampire franchise.

“I’m so excited… last week we premiered ‘Made in Jersey’ for CBS… I feel so strongly about our show, that I’m really happy to be a part of it,” she said of her new small screen gig, where she plays Cyndi Vega. “And Twilight is coming out… if you hear me complain I may get struck by lightning!”

On the big screen, the actress will appear as vampire Mary, a member of The American Nomadic Vampire coven, a breakout role she’s excited to play.

“I feel so good about it… Mary is very different because most of the new vampires come with a mate, husband or wife. Mary is truly a nomad,” she said of the role that is connected to the Cullen vampire family. “She really is a wanderer. And I like that about her. It really makes her stand out.”

Stepping into the massive “Twilight” machine was a little daunting for Toni, but she said her co-stars welcomed her with open arms.

“People were so nice. I met friends that I will keep forever,” Toni, who already knew Jackson Rathbone from school, told Access. “Michael Sheen, [who plays Volturi vampire Aro], is number one in my book. And I know that we will be friends forever.”

Toni and her new co-stars had plenty of fun while filming the final chapter in the vampire series, including a flash mob surprise for director Bill Condon.

“He just turned deep red and just didn’t know how to react. It was really priceless… it was really a precious moment,” she said of the giant dance that took place on set that included most of the cast, adding, “I mean who doesn’t want to see Peter Facinelli shake his butt?”

Toni told Access she was happy to see the devoted “Twilight” fans stand by the stars of the movie despite the barrage of recent headlines that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have made in the past few months.

“Everybody reacted with a whole lot of love, which really sort of embodies what ‘The Twilight Saga’ is. They are not a pretentious group… I think [the recent headlines don’t] matter. They still have the love for this book, these characters, these actors, and I think that [the film] is going to be unaffected by anything else,” she said.

And when it comes to eternal “Twilight” question – Team Edward or Team Jacob? – Toni said she’s split down the middle.

“Mary would say, ‘I don’t give a sh**,’ or she would say, ‘Team Edward,’ because of the vampires, clearly. But Team Trucks would say, ‘Team Jacob,’ because [Taylor Lautner] is from Michigan and I’m from Michigan and I always support all things in Michigan!” she explained to Access.

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” hits theaters on November 16, 2012 and “Made in Jersey” airs Fridays at 9/8c on CBS.
