Top 12 Becomes 11 As One ‘American Idol’ Contender Is Sent Home

“American Idol’s” Top 12 said goodbye to one of the women on Wednesday night’s elimination show.

From a Bottom 3 that included Paige Miles, Tim Urban and Lacey Brown, it was the flame-haired Texan who was sent on her way.

Lacey missed the Top 24 during “American Idol’s” Season 8 by just one space, and her dream was to get further in the competition this time around, something she achieved.

After the judges, who once again have been given the power of the “Judges’ Save,” chose unanimously not to exercise that option on the 24-year-old, Lacey said she very much enjoyed being part of the show.

“I had a blast,” the teary-eyed singer told show host Ryan Seacrest. “I had a lot of people tell me, ‘Maybe go the country route,’ or something like that and so I’m willing to keep working. I’m not gonna stop singing. I’m gonna keep singing for my fans and for myself because I love to do this so, I’m excited for the future.”

In related “Idol” news, Judge Simon Cowell used some time at the start of the episode to call out Ryan for taking him on after he criticized some of the contenders on Tuesday’s show.

Simon even suggested Ryan had questioned him during the live performance show in an attempt to fill the judges’ seat the Brit is vacating at the end of the current season.

“Do you want my job?” Simon asked.

“No, I’m comfortable with mine,” Ryan said.

“OK, because it felt like an audition,” Simon said, before adding a warning of sorts. “Can we agree: We don’t cross the line, the eyeballing, the aggressive behavior?”

“No,” Ryan said. “I love it.”

And Crystal Bowersox also took a moment to share her opinion on the competition after weeks of praise from the judges, praise which was taken back a little on Tuesday night following an average performance from the standout.

“This is definitely up for grabs and it could be anybody’s competition,” she said.
