LOS ANGELES (January 24, 2007) ? This photo of Tyra Banks shocked people. Photos like this one, taken of Tyra Banks on an Australian beach are not normally the kind of shots you want out there when you?re a former supermodel who built a career posing in swimsuits, but Tyra is taking it in stride.

Suddenly weight gain is an issue for Tyra Banks. The former supermodel has reportedly gained close to thirty pounds.
This photo was taken on a Sydney Beach in December and when our producer innocently asked her for a weight loss secret last week, Tyra assumed we were talking about the photo.
?Um, no, we are not going to talk about that, thanks,? she told our cameras.
She could not even believe how angry and vicious people were in talking about how she looked in those pictures.
People magazine?s Galina Espinoza told Access, Tyra has mixed feelings about her weight gain.
?She says when she puts on her jeans, bigger jeans than what she wore a year ago, mind you she doesn?t like the fact that her stomach spills over the top of the waist band,? Espinoza says.
Tyra?s 5?10? frame today looks nothing like her 1997 Sports Illustrated or this sexy GQ photo shoot we shot with her back in 1999.
On the Victoria?s Secret runway she was always curvy, but nothing like the photos that surfaced this past December.
?She?s not gonna kill herself to lose weight,? Galina notes. ?She?s resigned herself to putting on about five pounds a year nearing 200 pounds by age 40,?
Tyra certainly never shied from showing her body on her talk show ? or talking about body issues.
?I’ve had cellulite since I was 13-years-old and I wouldn’t be caught dead on a runway showing my booty because I have dimples in it,? Tyra once said.
She even dressed in a fat suit to show how the overweight are judged and mistreated.
Executives at the CW network, which airs ?America?s Next Top Model?, insist that they have not told Tyra to lose weight. In fact, some TV executives believe Tyra is more relatable at a heavier weight.
