Tori Spelling’s Family Feud Heats Up

(August 8, 2006) — With an inheritance battle still brewing, things have gotten even uglier between Tori Spelling and her mother Candy.

And the latest battle between mom and daughter has been touched off by ? of all things ? a tribute to the man they both loved so much.

A special tribute to the late Aaron Spelling, hosted and executive produced by Tori that was supposed to air on ABC this fall has been put on hold. But is mom Candy to blame?

?Tori had talked to ABC about creating this tribute to Aaron and she had talked to all of Aaron’s stars from his shows and they agreed to be interviewed and had done some interviews already, but she didn?t have any clips and Candy ? who is in control of the clips right now — refused to release any of them,? People magazine senior editor Jamie Bufalino told Access Hollywood.

Some speculate Candy?s refusal was due to the fact it was Tori?s project, but Bufalino (who broke the story) claims otherwise.

?Candy said that she had already decided to give the clips to NBC who is putting on a tribute to Aaron during the Emmy’s later this month and she didn?t want another special to air around the same time,? Bufalino added.

While ABC had no comment, all of this comes just three days after Tori joked about her estranged relationship with her mother at a charity event.

Saturday evening at a Much Love Animal Rescue event in Malibu, Calif., Tori received an honor for her “time, enthusiasm and amazing ideas” that she has contributed to their animals and volunteers.

Upon accepting her award, Access was there as she poked fun at her estranged mother in her acceptance speech.

?Actually my family tells me that the word ?dog? was one of my first words. They told me first it was ?dad,? second it was ?dog? and then third, oddly enough, it was ?mom?,? Tori joked. ?I don’t know why that was.?

Candy will attend the Emmy?s with her son Randy. And as for Tori?

?As far as we know right now, Tori has no plans to be there,? Bufalino said.
