T.R. Knight Says Katherine Heigl’s Baby Adoption Reinforces His Parenthood Yearnings

T.R. Knight may still be close to his former co-worker, Katherine Heigl, but he hasn’t been able to keep up on his old show, “Grey’s Anatomy.”

“Right now I’m working on a house so the TV is in a box, so unfortunately I don’t know a lot of what’s going on right now,” T.R. told E! News columnist Marc Malkin.

But he has been keeping up with Katherine’s personal life, in particular her adoption — with husband Josh Kelley, of a baby girl from Korea, which the couple named Nancy Leigh or Naleigh for short.

“She’s such a beautiful baby,” the actor said. “I’m so happy for her and Josh.”

And it appears seeing one of his best friends in the throws of parenthood has made T.R. long even more for a child of his own.

“I’ve wanted [kids] for a while, so it reinforces it,” he said.

Right now though, T.R. is married to his craft. He is currently starring in “Parade” at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, and he’s had to use his vocal skills in the musical production.

“I had two months of working with a voice teacher,” T.R. revealed. “We did six hours a week and tried to figure out how to make sound and not have it sound like screeching brakes.”

Although he has been busy of late, T.R. did manage to catch last week’s season premiere of his old show, “Grey’s Anatomy,” which killed off his character, George O’Malley.

“It’s fascinating to see it, not being involved in it anymore, because it was a very different experience,” the actor said. “I knew a couple of things that were going to happen, but not being there, not seeing it, not being a part of the filming process, being removed from it — you are able to see it in a different way.”
