Travolta Family To Hometown Fans: ‘Jett Appreciates’ Your Support

John Travolta thanked his fellow residents of Ocala, Fla., on Friday night for their support of his family following the death of his son, Jett, earlier this year.

“Kelly, Ella and I want to thank all of you for supporting us over the last year,” John said from the red carpet, according to the Ocala Star-Banner. “It’s meant the world to us. We know that we have a community. We know that we have friends. And we know that we are loved. We appreciate it. Jett appreciates it. We love you, Ocala.”

The actor and his family all star in “Old Dogs,” which screened on Friday to benefit five charities, including the Jett Travolta Foundation.

But it seemed that the Travoltas benefited from the evening, as well.

“You guys are all so down to earth, loving and caring,” wife Kelly Preston told the crowd.

The family reportedly spent 30 minutes walking the red carpet, signing autographs and greeting hundreds of fans.

The local premiere – days before the film’s opening next week – was his latest film that John has brought to his chosen hometown for charity.

He held a similar event in 2007 for “Wild Hogs” and last year for “Bolt.”
