“True Blood” star Mehcad Brooks is moving from the bayou to the boardroom.
Brooks, who plays Benedict “Eggs” Talley on the hit HBO vampire series, has just landed a role as a series regular in ABC’s upcoming legal drama “The Deep End,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In “The Deep End,” the 28-year-old Brooks will play Malcolm Bennet, an associate at a prestigious LA law firm where the show is set.
The casting, however, does raise questions – and possibly provide hints – to the future of Brooks’ character on “True Blood,” which wraps up Season 2 on September 13.
Brooks’ other acting credits include the films “In the Valley of Elah” and “Glory Road,” as well as TV roles in “Dollhouse,” “K-Ville” and “Desperate Housewives,” where he played Josh Applewhite during the show’s second season.
“The Deep End” is expected to debut as a mid-season show on ABC.
