‘True Blood’s’ Joe Manganiello Dishes On ‘Boy-Sandwiches,’ Why He’ll Watch ‘Dancing’ & The ‘Superman’ Reboot

“True Blood” doesn’t return to HBO until June, but series star Joe Manganiello gave AccessHollywood.com a taste of what to expect on the upcoming Season 4 – the hunky actor revealed there are “boy-sandwiches” on the menu!

Access caught up with the newly engaged actor at PaleyFest 2011 over the weekend, where he revealed that the chemistry between his Alcide character and Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) will continue to keep Bon Temps plenty steamy. He also candidly addressed those “Superman” movie rumors and revealed the reason why he might start tuning into “Dancing with the Stars.”

“There’s defiantly going to be some boy-sandwiches this year,” Joe said of the upcoming new season. “With Sookie in the middle, for sure!”

The 34-year-old actor – who is now a series regular – also revealed that scheduling prevented the actor from screen testing for the “Superman” reboot title role, a part since filled by former “Tudors” star, British actor Henry Cavill.

“At the end of the day they wanted me to screen test and they actually asked for my measurements for the suit and everything… their shoot date switched and it would have taken up 11 weeks out of my ‘True Blood’ schedule,” Joe explained. “At the end of the day, we couldn’t get the schedule to work so that I could go off and screen test. So, regrettably, I never go to screen test, I never got to put the suit on.”

Joe might be in the midst of filming the new season of the hit HBO vampire series, but he told Access he might find a little time for some reality TV escapism.

“I might actually have to watch an episode of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ now – I’ve never watched an episode – now that Hines [Ward] is on,” Joe – a big time football fan and Pittsburgh native said of the Steelers wide receiver, who is competing on the ABC reality series.

“I’m torn. But, I do love the man,” Joe added “What’s great is that he’ll out here in LA filming, so hopefully I’ll be able to go down and hang out with him.”
