‘Twilight’s’ Robert Pattinson: ‘I Always Get Carried Away When I’m Kissing People’

“Twilight” fans couldn’t wait to sink their teeth into Robert Pattinson on Monday night.

According to USA Today, the “Twilight” star — who plays heroic vampire Edward in the upcoming film, out Nov. 21 — was surrounded by a packed house of screaming girls at the Soho Apple store on Monday as he and director Catherine Hardwicke appeared for a Q&A session.

“I love you!” fans reportedly shouted, but the young star told them they didn’t know what they were getting into.

“I haven’t washed my hair in about six weeks,” he said. “It’s disgusting.”

The shampoo-challenged actor may not stay as clean as his vampiric alter-ego, but he admitted he and Edward have a few similarities.

“I have an incredible six-pack. I’m joking,” Robert said. “I can run really fast. I’m good at climbing trees. I always get carried away when I’m kissing people. I just go nuts.”

Sounds like a perfect fit — but Catherine said finding him wasn’t easy.

“We auditioned every gorgeous guy that acts on the planet,” the director said. “[Robert] came over to meet with [co-star] Kristen [Stewart] and I. They auditioned and they did some scenes on my bed. These two had the chemistry.”

And it didn’t take much for Robert, who has previously had roles in the “Harry Potter” films and “Lords of Dogtown,” to jump at the part.

“I liked Catherine. I like the story. Done,” he said.
