‘Two and a Half Men’: Walden Proposes To Alan!

“Two and a Half Men” had its season premiere on Thursday and it ended with Walden (Ashton Kutcher) proposing to a man!

The much-hyped and headline-making storyline kicked off after Walden had a medical scare that landed him in the hospital.

The episode started with Walden, dressed as zombie Elvis and Alan (Jon Cryer) dressed as Ducky from “Pretty in Pink” (a wink, wink to his ’80s John Hughes film character) getting ready to meet up with a few of Walden’s lady friends. It appeared to be another wild Halloween night until Walden began having chest pains.

After getting out of the hospital, Walden comes to the conclusion that his life needs more meaning, which means having a kid.

But a trip to a lawyer reveals that single men have a tough time adopting. He then told Alan he’s looking to marry the right girl, “or Mila Kunis” (a wink, wink to Ashton’s real life, as he just had a baby with fiancee Mila Kunis).

And then Walden had an idea to make adopting easier.

“What if we were more than friends?” he told Alan.

“Like super friends?” a bewildered Alan asked.

“Alan Harper, will you marry me?” Walden said, dropping to one knee at the end of the episode.

In July, Jon spoke to Access when news of the potentially controversial storyline first broke.

“The last thing we want to do is cheapen what has been an incredible struggle for the LGBT community… That being said, the idea of a marriage of convenience has been a comedic concept for centuries,” the actor said at the time. “Certainly, we’re going to deal with the fact that gay couples can’t adopt – there are still states where gay couples can’t adopt.

Adding, “We try to be respectable about that kind of stuff. But it’s ‘Two and a Half Men,’ so there might be some stuff in questionable taste.”
