UPDATED: Britney Arrives To Court & Leaves Before Going Inside!

Britney Spears arrived to a downtown Los Angeles courthouse shortly after 1PM on Monday, but instead of sticking around for a hearing over custody of her two children, the pop star got back in her vehicle and left.

Spears arrived just in time for the afternoon session, which was slated to begin at 1:30PM.

Spears arrived in a black SUV with paparazzi pal Adnan Ghabib by her side.

After getting out of the car, the singer appeared to try and make her way through the masses of media outside the courthouse and instead of proceeding through them, she turned around and got back inside the vehicle.

The vehicle carrying the singer then left the courthouse.

A little while later, the vehicle stopped at the Little Brown Church where Britney and Adnan stayed for as short time before walking hand in hand back to the waiting SUV.

The Little Brown Church was where Ron and Nancy Reagan were married in 1952. The doors of the church are open 24 hours a day.

The car also stopped at a restaurant according to reports.

It is not know if the pop star will return to the courthouse.

When she first arrived and it appeared that Spears was going to attend the hearing, sources on the scene said that authorities quickly began checking everyone inside the courthouse for camera phones.

While Britney was nowhere to be seen as the session began on Monday morning, Kevin Federline, his attorneys, as well as attorneys for Britney, were all present for the start of the custody hearing — one which some had dubbed “the most significant hearing in the case so far,” as the pop star attempts to regain custody of her two sons – Sean Preston and Jayden James.

As the noon lunch break came, Kevin was spotted leaving the courtroom with three bodyguards, as well as his attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan.

Kaplan and his client returned to the courthouse right shortly after 1:30PM.

Access has learned that only one witness testified in the morning session – an LAPD officer who was one of the first on the scene at Britney’s Beverly Hills home during her Jan. 3 late-night stand-off.

The testimony lasted for approximately 2 hours, 22 minutes.

Shortly before 4 PM, Allan Parachini, a spokesperson for the LA Superior Court confirmed that a total of four witnesses testified in the closed hearing earlier today.

It is not clear if there will be a hearing tomorrow.

A decision could be handed down before court ends for the day, Parachini said.

Neither Britney nor Kevin were required to appear at Monday’s hearing. However, Kaplan told the Associated Press it was in the pop star’s best interest to show up.

“You can’t phone this one in,” Kaplan said.
