UPDATED: Tony Parker Breaks His Silence; Source Says NBA Star Admitted To Text Messages

According to an Access Hollywood source, Tony Parker has denied having an affair with the wife of a former teammate – however, the NBA star allegedly admitted to sending text messages to the woman.

According to the source, Tony has denied any sexual activity with Erin Barry – the alleged other woman at the center of Tony’s divorce from Eva Longoria.

When Eva filed for divorce yesterday in Los Angeles after three years of marriage, it caught many fans by surprise – but it was apparently something Tony knew was coming.

In a statement to Access Hollywood on Thursday, Tony revealed he was aware of Eva’s intentions.

“Eva and I have been discussing our situation privately,” Tony said in a statement released through his rep to Access. “I was aware that she would be filing for divorce in Los Angeles.”

While Access’ source claimed Tony intended to file in Texas prior to Eva’s filing in Los Angeles, Tony’s statement indicated he never hired a divorce attorney.

“I did not file for divorce in Texas and did not hire divorce attorneys in either Texas or California,” his statement continued. “We plan to continue to keep our discussions of this matter private.”

As far as his interaction with Erin, the wife of Tony’s former San Antonio Spurs teammate Brent Barry, the source told Access that Tony did exchange text messages with Erin, but it ended over the summer and there “was no sex” involved.

Brent filed for divorce from Erin on October 29.

The source noted that Tony and Eva are “still speaking” and the real reason for the divorce was due to distance – not infidelity.

“It was a long distance relationship — and that distance took its toll,” the source added.

Prior to the Spurs’ game against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night in San Antonio, Tony spoke to reporters about his divorce, saying it was “a difficult time right now” for him and Eva.

“I’m having great support from teammates, you know, and my coaches,” Tony said. “I’m focused 100 percent on the Spurs and trying to win basketball games.”

Parker’s focus apparently paid off, as he scored 21 points in helping lead the Spurs to a 103-94 victory over the Bulls.
