Uzo Aduba Talks ‘Scandal’ Addiction: I’ve ‘Never Missed An Episode’

Uzo Aduba knows millions have binge-watched her Netflix series, “Orange Is the New Black,” but the actress – who plays fan favorite Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren on the show – admits there’s a drama she’d gladly throw her pie for!

“I watch ‘Scandal’ – have never missed an episode,” Uzo told Access Hollywood’s Liz Hernandez at the Creative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles on Saturday night before taking home the Outstanding Guest Actress in Comedy Series award. “I’m trying to find out what happens when [Olivia] got on that plane, but no one will tell me!”

In addition to the Kerry Washington-led ABC drama, Uzo said she can’t get enough of Frank Underwood’s shady political dealings.

“‘House of Cards’ I absolutely love, so I’m so ready to see what this next season brings,” she said. “I’m excited, those are my shows.”

The actress was nominated for (and won!) her first Emmy for her work on “OITNB,” and said the receiving the TV honor still feels surreal.

“It’s really kind unbelievable, my mind is just [like], ‘Am I dreaming? Am I awake? Is this what life feels like? Maybe this is what dreaming feels like when you’re awake,'” she said. “I cannot believe it.”

And the support for the show from other stars has been overwhelming.

“That is just like the most incredible feeling coming into this community,” she said. “I came from the theater before this and so, you know, that’s a community in the theater and I was wondering, what is the community in television? And it’s just been so wonderful to see that embrace, not only of our show but seeing other casts, like the cast of ‘Scandal,’ who I see them around and they just love each other, I love it, I couldn’t ask for a better reception.”

The Emmys air live on Monday, August 25at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT on NBC.
