Venus Williams’ #1 Tip For Good Health! (Healthy Hollywood)

Healthy Hollywood got up early this morning to meet up with tennis superstar Venus Williams.

While she and her sister, Serena, are ruthless on the court, in person Venus is super sweet and soft-spoken. We caught up at Jamba Juice in Times Square.

“I love juicing. I juice to detox and cleanse. I juice for nutrients. I juice for breakfast. I juice for fun,” she says.

OK, we get it, Venus loves to juice. So, it makes sense she’s owns a Jamba Juice franchise.

“It wasn’t something I thought I would do in my life. I am very into juicing and healthy living and it’s just a perfect,” she explains to Healthy Hollywood.

Venus got into juicing a few years ago and says it’s changed her life.

“Heath-wise, I have gotten a lot more aware of what I am putting into my body and that’s so important. You need to know what’s going in {your body] and why it’s going in and also my energy is so much better. I love vegetables. I love spinach and kale; those are some of my favorite ingredients,” she adds.

The tennis powerhouse also makes sure to juice during her matches, noting, “I might bring a beet-orange juice on the court and add in an electrolyte powder. Or, I could do a lemonade-raspberry. It’s important to get those simple sugars quickly into the body and adding hydration with different powders.”

At 33, Venus has no plans to stop playing professional tennis. In fact, the three-time Olympian has her eye on defending her doubles gold medal with sister Serena in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

“I spend my time wishing the Olympics were here and when they get here it’s the most exciting thing in the world,” Venus explains. “The Grand Slams are amazing, but the Olympics are something special. When I first played in the games it was beyond my dreams. I never thought I would be at the Olympics and do so well. So, it was mind blowing and you feel part of something so much bigger and the whole world is united and watching.”

Now, Venus hopes to spread her love of juicing with the rest of us. Jamba Juice is giving away one million free smoothies of juices.

Starting today, consumers who download the free Isis Mobile Wallet app on their smart phone can receive one free juice per day.

Folks can keep getting a free daily juice until Jamba Juice gives away one million beverages. Sounds like a no-brainer to Healthy Hollywood.
