Victor Ortiz Talks Dancing With The Stars: ‘I Want To Win!’

Boxer Victor Ortiz is a champion in the ring and now he hopes to be crowned the victor of the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom.

Victor and pro partner Lindsay Arnold stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Monday, where they dished about their chances of taking home the mirrorball trophy.

“He’s good on his feet… He’s not horrible, he’s got great footwork,” first-time pro Lindsay said of Victor, who told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover that his dance experience amounts to only “three seconds.”

“Anything she says, I’m willing to do,” he said of his training.

In an interview following Access Hollywood Live with Billy Bush, the boxer said his fellow contestants better watch out for him – and his competitive nature.

“I want to win it actually. I want to win this thing… my other competitive side of me is now kicking in,” he said.

And he hopes to be crowned the champ with the help of Lindsay.

“I have a wonderful partner. She is awesome. It’s her first season, I know she’s hungry to win this thing,” he told Billy. “I’m just obeying, she’s the coach right now, so I can’t let her down, so I’m definitely working as hard as I can.”

The intense dance training has come with a few hurdles for the athlete.

“I get frustrated sometimes and she works with me through it. At least she knows, I’m a work horse, so whatever is put on the table I’m going to deliver,” he continued.

But what about a possible love connection between Victor and Lindsay, which Kit suggested plays well with the audience.

“Yeah, but I’ve got to respect her world and this is work,” the boxer said, ruling out the idea.

“Dancing with the Stars” premieres March 18 at 8/7c on ABC.
