Viola Davis On Cloud Nine Following SAG Wins For ‘The Help’

Viola Davis had a huge night on Sunday, taking home two Screen Actors Guild Awards for her Aibileen Clark role in “The Help.”

Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson caught up with the actress backstage, where she was still recovering from all the excitement.

“I’ve come to these awards with no expectations,” she explained. “I’m just always pleasantly surprised and knowing that really, at the end of the day, I got to go back to work. I got to get back to being an actor. I’m always trying to keep it in perspective. It’s been so wonderful.”

“You just seem like you’re on cloud nine,” Shaun told the SAG Outstanding Lead Actress winner.

“I am,” Viola, who also took home one the Outstanding Ensemble awards, continued. “You see, I’m shocked. It’s like I’m trying to gain control of my appendages.”

And with the Oscars just weeks away – and many calling the nominee the frontrunner in the Best Actress category – does the star know what she might be wearing on the big night?

“I’ve got to think about that [Oscar] dress,” the 46-year-old new mom told Shaun. “You know, I lost the Miss Central Falls Recreation contest when I was 8 years old, so the beauty queen dress thing, I’m telling you, I’m still trying to get into that thing! I feel I’m getting there though. I’m getting it.”
