Was Dr. Frank Ryan’s Death Caused By Texting? Celebs Turn Out To His Memorial

The former girlfriend of Dr. Frank Ryan has claimed that his death was caused by texting. Meanwhile, Tuesday night, several celebrities turned out to honor the late doctor, on one of his favorite Malibu beaches.

Charmaine Blake, who dated the well-known Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who transformed Heidi Montag, told People her ex was texting while driving.

“He lived up in Malibu on a tiny street and he was texting while driving and he accidentally went over the cliff,” Charmaine Blake claimed.

Charmaine told the mag that investigators told Ryan’s family that Tweeting caused the fatal accident on Monday.

The California Highway Patrol told People the surgeon was texting prior to the wreck, but they have not officially determined the cause of the accident.

“It is one of the elements that we are investigating,” CHP Officer Steven Reid said.

On Tuesday night friends, family and clients held a candlelight vigil in Malibu for the late doctor.

“As we all know, [Frank] was larger than life,” Janice Dickinson, who was Ryan’s patient, reportedly told the crowd of 150 people. “He was the Bentley of plastic surgeons. He fixed people, but from the inside out. He loved women, he loved people.”

Other celebrities in attendance reportedly included Melissa Rivers, Gary Busey, Lisa Rinna, Harry Hamlin and celebrity heir Jason Davis. Heidi Montag reportedly did not attend the vigil.
