Wesley Snipes Tells Larry King He Relied On Professional Tax Advice, Doesn’t Deserve Prison

Actor Wesley Snipes says he relied on the advice of tax professionals and doesn’t believe he deserves a three-year prison sentence for failing to pay taxes.

Snipes says his case has been misrepresented in the media and he wanted to clear the air on CNN’s “Larry King Live” Tuesday night. He said he’s not nervous about reporting to a Pennsylvania prison Thursday. He says he was more upset and disappointed that the legal system was not working in his favor.

Snipes did not directly blame his accountants or financial advisors on his troubles, but said he relied on their advice.

The 48-year-old star of the “Blade” trilogy was convicted in 2008 in a Florida court on three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file income tax returns.
