What Charlie Sheen Can Expect During His Jail Time & Theater Work Release

Charlie Sheen is set to appear in court later today for a hearing where he is expected to plead guilty to one misdemeanor count, stemming from the December 2009 incident involving wife Brooke Mueller.

The courthouse in Aspen, Colo., was quiet earlier on Monday as everyone awaited Sheen’s arrival. It’s expected that his lawyers will submit a plea bargain and work release plan for the actor to serve a 30-day jail sentence.

Sheen will spend his time in the Pitkin County Jail, where Access took a tour of the facility.

Sheen will stay in a standard, 65-square-foot cell. The jail includes a dayroom where inmates pass the time. There is also a recreation area.

“I can’t speak for what Charlie Sheen’s gonna feel, but it’s jail, trust me,” Don Bird, the jail administrator, told Access Hollywood.

Sheen will take advantage of being allowed to leave from 8 AM to 11:30 PM. His work release deal reportedly allows Sheen to spend his days – unpaid – at Theater Aspen, working under theater director Paige Price.

“There’s many ways we can use him other than teaching,” Price told Access Hollywood. “He’s a well known voiceover artist, I imagine there are some voiceover needs he can fulfill.”

And while there is a strict “No Smoking” rule inside jail, Price said Sheen’s co-star, Jon Cryer, sent her a note detailing Sheen’s excessive nicotine habit.

”[Jon wanted us] to make sure he had a place to smoke, that he’s never seen someone smoke that much in his life,” Price told Access. “So we’ll have some smoking stations.”
