Will ‘Breaking Dawn’s’ Most Shocking Scene Be Off Camera?

Many Twi-hards have been adamant that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” retain its graphic and somewhat shocking scenes – but screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg isn’t sure the audience needs to actually see them on screen.

(SPOILER ALERT!)

The Los Angeles Times’ Ministry of Gossip blog caught up with the writer earlier this week, where she revealed that it’s possible that not every visual in the fourth Stephenie Meyer novel will actually be shown.

“On the fan site, on Facebook, all the comments are ‘It has to be R rated! You have to show the childbirth! Gore and guts and sex!’ For me it’s actually more interesting to not see it. You know, you can do childbirth without seeing childbirth … it doesn’t mean it’s any less evocative of an experience,” Melissa told the LA Times.

In related “Breaking Dawn” news previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Kristen Stewart told Access’ Shaun Robinson at the “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” junket in LA on Saturday that she’s excited to have Edward (Robert Pattinson) and her character, Bella, consummate their relationship in the fourth installment.

“We totally have sex. Finally!” Kristen told Shaun. “[Edward and Bella] are man and wife now. They have a kid, and so I guess to get there, you know, that happens.”

“Eclipse” opens in theaters on June 30.
