Will Ferrell Hears Voices In His Head

Will Ferrell really was hearing Emma
Thompson’s voice in his head while filming “Stranger Than Fiction.”

In the film, he hears Thompson’s voice as she writes a book that turns out to be about him.

Ferrell says the director hooked him up with a gadget to put in his ear that played
Thompson’s voice reading her lines. He says it made him feel uncomfortable just like his character was feeling in the movie.

Ferrell says it was weird not to be loud and over the top (in the film), and that it was a great change of pace not to be the manic guy he usually plays on screen.

“Stranger Than Fiction” opens today.
