Peter Parker has reportedly found his foe – The Lizard!
According to TheWrap.com, Rhys Ifans, who was recently announced as the villain in the Marc Webb-directed “Spider-Man” reboot, will play Dr. Curt Connors, A.K.A. The Lizard.
A rep for Sony had no comment on the report when contacted by Access.
Access Hollywood’s Scott “Movie” Mantz – a die-hard Spidey fan – said he’s thrilled with the reported super-hero match up.
“The Lizard is one of Spidey’s oldest and deadliest foes, dating back to his first appearance in ‘Amazing Spider-Man #6’ from 1963!,” Scott told Access. “Having him as the main villain in the high-anticipated ‘Spider-Man’ reboot is an excellent idea, and one that’s sure to give everybody’s favorite web-slinger a run for his money!”
The website also reported that fan-favorite villain Venom will not be part of the reboot, which will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.
“Spider-Man” is slated to spin a web on moviegoers in 3-D on July 3, 2012.
