Willow Shields’ ‘DWTS’ Blog: My Bond With Patti LaBelle & Noah Galloway

“Hunger Games” star Willow Shields joins AccessHollywood.com as our behind-the-scenes celebrity blogger for Season 20 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

Here is Willow’s latest post…

This week was a huge challenge! At this point in the competition I have literally started to lose track of what day of the week it is.

I think it’s Monday morning. Yes, definitely Monday because I just got an email from the producer saying that tonight is the live show!

Yeah, when I first started the competition I thought it was pretty silly that the producer of the show would email me on the morning of the show reminding me that I have to perform tonight. But now…. going into the fifth dance I know exactly why they send this email, because the producer is trying to avoid calling me when I’m hanging out at some random place in Hollywood yelling “Where are you? You’re on in 5 minutes!” Oh and here’s my reoccurring nightmare that I’m having, it goes something like this… I’m dancing with Maddie Ziegler on “Dance Moms” and Abby Lee Miller is yelling at me “Are you crying? No tears. Save those tears for your pillow…and by the way your dreaming, and dreaming in the wrong show…you have 5 minutes until you go live on Dancing with the Stars!”

Who needs an iPhone alarm when you can just wake up in a cold sweat every morning to this.

Yeah, sometimes I’m pretty close to tears. I’m tired, my brain feels like it may explode or implode, not really sure. But…. thanks to some of the dancers I’m around I manage to keep it together. Two of the dancers I’m talking about are Patti LaBelle and Noah Galloway.

Patti and I created a neat bond after the very first show when she whispered in my ear “Willow sweetheart, you’re the youngest, I’m the oldest, we’re going to stick together.” Since then I can’t wait to see Patti in the dance studio. When Patti arrives at the dance studio, she floats in, only humans need to walk. She’s always dressed as if she may perform right there on the spot and one time she actually did! We were at the TV studio and before she started to rehearse for the cameras I saw her chatting with the band and 30 seconds later she was singing. Everyone immediately dropped what they were doing and gathered around, nothing anyone was doing at the time was important enough to keep them from stopping and listening. Awesome.

Noah Galloway, as of this morning, the online video of his dance with Sharna Burgess from last week has 32 million views on Facebook. You can credit 6 of those views to me! Also, Sharna’s choreography and the beauty she brings to their dances is incredible, she deserves an award for sure, sorry Mark Ballas you’ll get over it.

I’m trying to think of what to say about Noah because anything I say, you probably already know. You know he’s incredibly inspirational but what you may not know is that he’s also a super nice guy. Also, I really have to credit Noah for helping me get as far as I have in this competition. It’s pretty tempting for me to feel sorry for myself, I’m the youngest in the competition, I have no dance experience, I have to do school at the same time I’m training, and then Noah shows up to train. No excuses and a smile on his face. Thank you Noah!

Just in case you’re upset this week because you don’t have the clothes you wish you could have or the guy at Starbucks gets your order wrong, here is Sharna and Noah’s recent dance.
