Wynonna Judd Loving Her Dancing With The Stars Experience, Talks Bonding With Andy Dick

Wynonna Judd is loving her experience on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

“It’s a process and I’m enjoying every moment of this process because there will come a day when we don’t have this opportunity,” Wynonna told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live, while seated next to her professional ballroom partner, Tony Dovolani.

“I get very emotional, because the three weeks we had [of rehearsal, in Nashville] — I miss that,” she added.

Tony said the two have a secret weapon in the ballroom.

“Our secret weapon is we laugh. We enjoy every single moment in the studio,” he said.

Wynonna and Tony made their ballroom debut on Season 16 of “DWTS” on Monday and the country superstar said backstage, the teams were quaking in their boots.

“Everybody was freaked out and they acted kind of like they weren’t, but everyone was really nervous,” Wynonna said.

Wynonna said she’s bonded with fellow competitor Andy Dick, but she is not aware of some of his well-documented troubles.

“I actually connect with Andy,” she said. “I think people of the United States of America identify with, not only the underdog, but someone who’s wounded and Andy’s a very wounded spirit and the first thing he did was come up to me and hug me and he lays his head on my shoulder like I’m his sister/mommy, and people don’t understand what a dear he is. By the way, I [have no] idea [about] his past, which is probably a good thing, I don’t watch a lot of TV – and I just don’t know, so I see Andy for who he is in that moment, and he could not be sweeter. “

“DWTS” continues Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
