‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Casts Jean Grey, Storm & Cyclops

The “X-Men: Apocalypse” cast is shaping up and will include a “Game of Thrones” star.

Director Bryan Singer announced on Twitter on Thursday night that Sophie Turner (who plays Sansa Stark in “Thrones”) will play the young Jean Grey. Jean has been played before by Famke Janssen.

Alexandra Shipp, who just played singer Aaliyah in Lifetime’s “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B,” steps into the role of Storm, which has been played by Halle Berry in previous “X-Men” films.

“Mud” alum Tye Sheridan steps into the role of Cyclops, which James Marsden has played.

“Meet our new and brilliant young mutants: @Alexshipppp as #Storm @SophieT as #JeanGrey and @TyeSheridan as #Cyclops. #XmenApocalypse,” Bryan wrote to announce the castings.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” is due out in May 2016.
