Zac Efron’s Rules For Big Screen Kissing: No Tuna Sandwiches!

Zac Efron has locked lips with a slew of Hollywood leading ladies from Vanessa Hudgens to Michelle Pfeiffer – and he’s learned a few tricks about keeping fresh for his co-stars.

In “The Lucky One,” Zac and co-star Taylor Schilling are featured in quite a few intimate scenes, something the 24-year-old was conscious of when ordering lunch on the movie set.

“I chewed more gum that day than typical,” he told Access Hollywood this weekend at the film’s junket when asked about his steamy scenes with Taylor.

“No onions! I had a kissing scene one time [on a different movie] and I ate a tuna sandwich and it was the first [scene] I had to do and I got called out on it,” he recalled. “It was so embarrassing… You don’t do that, don’t be that guy!”

In Zac’s latest film, where he plays and Iraq war veteran who falls in love with a woman he believes helped save his life, the actor shows off more skin than ever before on the big screen in numerous love scenes – something he’s keeping his sense of humor about.

“You can’t take it too seriously… I think the best way to do it is laugh all the way through it because it’s hilarious,” he said of his love scenes. “At that point, we had been working together for months and I knew her very, very well.”

As for Zac’s co-star, Taylor said he handled himself quite well while filming.

“He was a class act,” she told Access. “He knows what he is doing.”

“The Lucky One” hits theaters on April 20.
