Zayn Malik Snubbed By Certain One Direction Members

Hello, it's me, Zayn… why are my former One Direction mates not taking my calls?

Zayn Malik's 2015 departure from One Direction has left his relationships with Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson in shambles.

"I've reached out to a few of them and not got a reply," Malik told Billboard's Predictions issue. "I had every intention of remaining friends with everybody, but I guess certain phone numbers have changed and I haven't received calls from a lot of people."

The now-solo Zayn, who is embarking on his own music career, is not a fan of some of 1D's new music from their latest album, "Made in the A.M."

"I'll be honest. I thought the first single ['Drag Me Down'] was quite cool. I heard the second single ['Perfect']," he told the mag making a face, "Yeah, I didn't buy the album."

As for what helped fuel his departure from 1D, Zayn told the mag he felt stifled creatively while a member of the group.

"We weren't allowed to say certain things, or word [lyrics] the way we would want to," he said. "I'd sit and wonder, 'If the fans knew how it worked, what would they think?' My argument was: People are more intelligent than that. They want to hear what's real, so why don't we write some stuff that we're actually going through?"

The singer, who is dating model Gigi Hadid, told the mag what his "ideal girl" is like.

"I like girls that are a bit chunky in certain areas — the nice areas. I like a fuller woman. I enjoy an intellectual conversation as well, where someone can construct a sentence beyond what hair and makeup they're wearing, and talk about something political or about the world. I like an opinion," he explained.
