Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband says he had a decade-long affair with Anna Nicole Smith and may be her daughter’s father.
The claim, by Prince Frederick von Anhalt, comes amid a paternity suit over Smith’s five-month-old daughter, Dannielynn.
The birth certificate lists Dannielynn’s father as attorney Howard K. Stern, but former boyfriend Larry Birkhead is waging a legal challenge, saying he is the father.
Anhalt says he will file a lawsuit if the baby is turned over to Stern or Birkhead.
As the prince puts it, “If you go back from September, she wasn’t with one of those guys, she was with me.”
At an impromptu press conference outside of his home on Friday afternoon, the Prince never denied having an affair with Anna Nicole, but maintained that he knew who the father of Dannielynn was.
He said that he didn’t want to hurt his wife by talking specifics, but that he “wouldn’t kick her [Anna Nicole] out of bed.”
He says that his first reaction when he learned of Anna Nicole’s death was that she must have been murdered.
However, Edward Lozzi, who was a publicist for Zsa Zsa (and also dated Anna Nicole at one point) told Access Hollywood the Prince isn’t all he’s cracked up to be.
“His behavior and history in the past show him to be a chronic fabricator, causing pain and suffering to many around him, including his wife. His claim is embarassing and ludicrous,” Lozzi told Access.
As celebrity Web site TMZ.com pointed out today: “If Prince von Anhalt is the father, that makes Dannielynn the step great aunt of Paris Hilton!”
