All Cool For Ice-T In NYC Unlicensed-driving Case; Prosecutors Say State Records Were Wrong

Ice-T has been cleared of unlicensed driving charges stemming from a New York City arrest.

The rapper-actor called out “that’s what I’m talking about — dismissed!” in a Manhattan courtroom Tuesday. Prosecutors did just that to the misdemeanor case.

The entertainer, born Tracy Marrow, said last month when he was arrested that he had a valid New Jersey license. Prosecutors said Tuesday that New York Department of Motor Vehicles records wrongly reflected that his license was suspended because of a lack of insurance. His 2009 Cadillac is insured and registered in New Jersey.

Ice-T says he didn’t know about the glitch in New York records and “never broke the law.”

He plays Detective Fin Tutuola on the TV drama “Law&Order: Special Victims Unit.”
