Angelina, Brad & Britney Set Guinness World Records

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Britney Spears are no strangers to setting records at the box office and on the album charts. But now, these celebrities have been crowned top of their game by Guinness World Records.

With cinema crowd-pleasers like “Wanted” and “Kung Fu Panda,” Angelina Jolie snagged the title of “Most Powerful Actress,” which she previously shared with partner Brad Pitt’s ex, Jennifer Aniston.

Brad also took down some of the competition, earning the “Most Powerful Actor” title, an honor that Tom Cruise held for four consecutive years.

Samuel L. Jackson blew all the acting competition off the marquee, setting the world record for the “Highest Grossing Actor,” starring in a staggering 68 movies that have earned a total gross of $7.42 billion over his career.

But it wasn’t just actors and actresses making world record news.

Thanks to fans surfing search engines, blogs and entertainment news Web sites (including AccessHollywood.com!) looking for information on Britney Spears, the pop star reclaimed the Guinness World Record of “Most Searched Person on the Internet,” a title heiress Paris Hilton held last year.

This was not the first time Brit made it into the Guinness Book of World Records. She holds numerous previous records, including “Best Selling Album by a Teenage Solo Artist” and “Best Selling Album in the U.S. by a Female Artist,” both set in 2000.

The often trouble-plagued Amy Winehouse also garnered an accolade for winning five of the six Grammy Awards that she was nominated for in 2008, earning her the honor of “Most Grammy Awards Won by a British Female Act.”

The 2009 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records is available on September 17.
