Angelina Jolie Gives Birth: It’s A Boy & A Girl!

Angelina Jolie has given birth to twins, Access Hollywood has learned.

A boy, Knox Leon, weighed in at 5.03 lbs, while his twin sister, Vivienne Marcheline, weighed in at just 5 lbs according to the Associated Press.

Jolie gave birth by cesarian. which had been moved up from its originally scheduled date “for medical reasons,” according to Dr. Michel Sussman, who delivered the babies, the AP reported.

Pitt, Jolie’s partner, was present during the birth.

“Everything is going well,” Sussman told the AP. “The mother, the babies, the father are doing marvelously well.”

Jolie has spent the last two weeks at the Lenval hospital in Nice, France, preparing for the birth.

Her partner, Brad Pitt, has been seen visiting, often with the couple’s other children in tow.

The twins are the fifth and sixth additions to the Jolie-Pitt family, which already includes Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2.

With three boys and three girls now in the family, Jolie’s “Kung Fu Panda” co-star Jack Black may have also given away the twins’ sexes when he revealed her pregnancy on the “Today” show in May, joking that the family would “have as many as [the] Brady Bunch.”

Jolie, 33, checked into the hospital in Nice in late June in preparation for the birth, a rep for the facility confirmed to Access Hollywood at the time.

Last week, photos surfaced online claiming to depict a very pregnant Jolie standing at the window of her hospital room.

However, shortly thereafter, a rep for Lenval released a statement, dubbing the photos fake, insisting it was “totally impossible” to see inside the expecting actress’ room, thanks to a material on the windows designed to ensure Jolie’s privacy.

The statement wasn’t specific, but hospital spokeswoman Nadine Bauer said she believed the material was a type of film, adding it was installed specifically for their superstar patient.

“So any pictures released are either posed fakes set up by paparazzi or they are pictures of other patients,” the statement noted. “We hope this is clearly understood out of respect for all patients in this clinic.”
