‘The Jungle Book’ Remains King Of The Box Office

“The Jungle Book” remains king of the box office in its second weekend in theaters, beating new opener “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” by nearly $40 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

While “The Jungle Book” celebrates a $60.8 million weekend and a $191.5 million domestic total, “The Huntsman” sequel is flailing in second place.

Chris Hemsworth-starring movie took in only $20.1 million against a production budget of $115 million in its first days in theaters. The first film earned $56.2 million in its debut in 2012 and went on to gross $396.6 million worldwide.

“Barbershop: The Next Cut” landed in third place with $10.8 million in its second weekend in theaters. “Zootopia” and “The Boss” rounded out the top five with $6.6 million and $6.1 million, respectively.
