Bill Paxton Dies: Stars Remember The Beloved Actor

Hollywood reacts to the sudden loss of renowned actor Bill Paxton.

Following the news of the Paxton’s passing on Saturday, the actor’s colleagues tweeted out condolences and shared their memories of the performer’s 40-year career. 

Tom Hanks, who starred alongside Paxton in “Apollo 13” (1995), tweeted, “Bill Paxton was, simply, a wonderful man.  A wonderful man… Hanx.”

“Crushing. #RIPBillPaxton A gr8 talent & spirit. His passion contributed so much 2 #Apollo13 & all his wrk. We’ll miss the hell out of U Bill,” director Ron Howard wrote on Twitter.

Bill Paxton’s “Training Day” co-star, Justin Cornwell, tweeted a picture of them at the 2017 People’s Choice Awards and wrote, “We were just two guys on top of the world. Rest easy my friend.”

“True Lies” and “The Terminator” co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote on Twitter, “Bill Paxton could play any role, but he was best at being Bill – a great human being with a huge heart. My thoughts are with his family.”

Jamie Lee Curtis tweeted, “Nooooo. Bill Paxton is gone. Such a funny, talented, loving human. Louise & the children & family my ❤& support 2 u. #truelies,” and posted a picture of them on the set of “True Lies” (1994).

Charlize Theron, who co-starred with Paxton in “Mighty Joe Young” (1998) shared, “You were a great friend to me, Bill. AND one of the finest actors to share a set with. Sending so much love to Bill Paxton’s family.”

Aaron Paul wrote, “Bill Paxton was hands down one of the greatest guys that I have ever met. I feel lucky to have called him my friend. Bill, I love you. RIP.”

Paxton’s “Texas Rising” co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan shared on Twitter, “Bill Paxton was simply one of the greatest people ever. To know him was to love him. I loved him. Huge love to Louise, Lydia and James. Xo”

“Such a tragic loss… #RIP #BillPaxton one of the finest people I’ve ever known,” Gale Ann Hurd, who worked with Paxton on multiple projects, including “Aliens” (1986), wrote.

“Bill Paxton is 1of my favorite actors.I was able 2tell him so when we met yrs ago.Paxton was wonderful in everything he did. He inspired us,” actor Vincent D’Onofrio tweeted.

Rob Lowe, who co-starred with Paxton in “Frank & Jesse” (1995), shared multiple messages, stating, “Devastated by the sudden loss of my close friend and one of the finest actors in the business, Bill Paxton. Renaissance man, raconteur and uniquely American national treasure. His filmography speaks for itself. His friendship was a blessing. My love to Bunny, James and Lydia.”

Lowe also tweeted, “In his memory, on this Oscar Sunday, watch “One False Move” or “A Simple Plan” to see this lovely leading man, at his finest.”
