Lazaro Arbos was the latest victim of the “American Idol” boot on Thursday, but his reaction to being eliminated was slightly different from the norm.
“I was [happy] because I’m excited to go home,” he told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman following his elimination. “[It’s] like we’ve been in a big bubble and I’m like, ‘Phew, I am out!’”
Adding, “It has burst!”

Lazaro – who had trouble singing in the correct key during Wednesday’s performance — admitted he’s been hoping to go home for a while.
“I just want to go home and be normal and not have to do something’s like a day or so, and to hang out with the people I love because the show was taking a toll on me,” he said. “I kind of miss home a lot… Like I just cried, like, every day.”

The 22-year-old doesn’t think he’s the only one who wants to go home.
“At the beginning of the show, I was like, ‘Yes! I’m going to be on ‘American Idol!’ and then by last week, we’re like, ‘We want to go home,’” he said. “So, I think that with every one of those women [the five finalists] there’s a small part that wants to go home. No matter what they say, they want to go home at some point.”
“American Idol” returns Wednesday at 8/7c on FOX.
