Celebs Give Messages Of Support For AIDS LifeCycle 7 Riders

Three thousand people from around the world and nearly every state, ranging in age from 18 to 81, will participate in this year’s AIDS/LifeCycle. The 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, which begins June 1, is expected to raise more than $11 million for the fight against AIDS — more than any other annual event.

And this year, Access Hollywood is bringing Messages of Support to share with this year’s riders. You can watch them in the “related videos” box to the right.

Now in its seventh year, the event benefits the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, two of the largest AIDS service organizations in the country. Since its inception, AIDS/LifeCycle has raised nearly $40 million for HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs. Despite the demanding physical nature of the ride, it has become so popular that, for the first time, registration closed months before the weeklong trek was set to begin.
