Charlie Sheen has revised his thoughts on John Stamos and the rumors over the former “Full House” hunk potentially taking over on “Two and a Half Men.”
“I was out of line and you’re a beautiful man, and a talented man, and if you get the gig, we should talk,” Sheen told KTLA News on Wednesday.
It was in an interview with Access Hollywood’s own Billy Bush on Monday afternoon, that Sheen first took aim at the potential casting of Stamos on “… Men.”
“I love him. I like John, but he doesn’t have what I have and the show sucks if he’s on it,” Sheen told Bush during a 90-minute candid sit down interview at the actor’s home.
“Sorry, just speaking the truth,” Sheen added.
Rumors that Stamos was being courted for the hit sitcom first surfaced late last week, something the guest-starring “Glee” dentist addressed on Twitter last weekend.
“contrary to the rumors, i am not replacing charlie sheen on two and half men. however, martin sheen has asked me to be his son,” Stamos Tweeted.
A new report surfaced on E! News on Monday claiming Stamos had been courted since his Tweet, but so far, the actor has remained silent on the latest rumor and his rep didn’t respond to a previous request for comment from Access.
In related news, another Jon – Jon Cryer – has finally spoken out (sort of!) since “…Men” was canceled for the season following Sheen’s series of radio rants.
Rather than address any of Sheen’s statements or show creator Chuck Lorre’s end-of-show vanity cards head on, Cryer was spotted on a new job on Thursday morning – as a receptionist for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
In a clip set to air on DeGeneres’ show on Thursday, and posted to her website already, Jon was filmed making some extra cash by manning the talk show host’s front desk.
“Hey Jon, how’s it going?” Ellen asked Jon.
”‘Ellen DeGeneres Show,’” Cryer answered as he picked up the phone on behalf of the show, unable to reply to the host directly. “Oh, tickets? Go to EllenTv.com.”
“Thanks for being here, I appreciate it,” DeGeneres said.
“I needed the work,” Cryer replied.
Both “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “… Men” are produced by Warner Bros. Television and shoot on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank.
