He did it! Charlie White is engaged!
The Olympic ice dancing champion proposed to longtime girlfriend Tanith Belbin, he announced on Instagram on Tuesday.
“Couldn’t ask for a more beautiful setting for the best time in our life! Hashtag she said yes!!!” he captioned a photo of the happy couple in Hawaii, with Tanith’s hand placed on his chest (clearly showing off her new engagement ring!).
Charlie’s ice dancing partner Meryl Davis chimed in on Twitter, congratulating her Olympic partner/recent “Dancing with the Stars” competitor.
“Congrats to these two! Beautiful girl, beautiful,” Meryl Tweeted, along with the engagement photo of Charlie and Tanith. “Good work @CharlieaWhite ;-)”
The engagement comes just weeks after Charlie, 26, placed fifth on “Dancing with the Stars,” where he was partnered with Sharna Burgess.
Charlie also caused a social media firestorm last week when he announced he’d chopped off his famous blond curls.
“Here it is! Hopefully didn’t disappoint anyone- but I needed to change it up for vaca!” he captioned a photo on Instagram, which shows Charlie with his now-fiancee and hairstylist. “With Tanith and the culprit who cut it- Gjoni Camaj!”
