Dolly Defends Miley Over ‘Hannah Montana’ Criticism

Dolly Parton — who plays Miley Cyrus’ aunt on “Hannah Montana” — says the final season of the show mirrors Cyrus’ real life, down to the backlash against her.

According to Parton, Cyrus’ character takes off her blonde “Hannah Montana” wig and reveals her true identity as Miley Stewart.

Parton says the media were then saying bad things about Miley — “just the same way they’re doing now in the real press.”

Cyrus has recently stirred controversy with two videos, including one that showed the 17-year-old bumping and grinding with “So You Think You Can Dance” judge Adam Shankman.

Parton says she asked Cyrus: “Do you feel like we’re just living out the show wedid? And (Miley) said, ‘Yeah, but that’s great, because I was at least braced for it.’”

“Hannah Montana” season four premieres in July.
