Fergie Promises ‘Clean Fun’ For Super Bowl Halftime Show

Fergie is the first woman to play the Super Bowl halftime show since Janet Jackson’s infamous wardrobe malfunction in 2004 – and the Black Eyed Peas singer promised Access Hollywood her attire would be family friendly.

“We want to keep it clean fun. A little of sexual appeal is fine, just nothing that’s inappropriate,” Fergie told Access.

Bandmate will.i.am said their performance at the big game – between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers – wouldn’t have the network reaching for the censor button.

“We’ve never really been known for that…that’s not something we’re worried about. We’ve never done that kind of stuff,” he explained.

“Well, I don’t know. I’ve worn some pretty revealing costumes for things in videos.” Fergie added with a smile. “It will be good at the Super Bowl. It will be fun for the whole family.”

In addition to The Black Eyed Peas, Christina Aguilera will perform the national anthem prior to Super Bowl XLV and “Glee” star Lea Michele will sing “America the Beautiful.”
