Fergie: We’re ‘Trying To Start A Family’ After Tour

Fergie’s gotta feeling that motherhood is in her future.

“Definitely,” she told British Cosmopolitan. “But I want to finish this tour first before trying to start a family. We’re never going to be at this time of our lives again so we have to make the most of it.”

For now, the Black Eyed Peas singer and “Nine” star calls herself a “fun wife” to husband Josh Duhamel – but not a “homemaker.”

“I do love to cook,” she said. “We have a lot of fun together, which is very important.”

Though the couple fended off cheating rumors earlier this year, Fergie said their first year of marriage has been “lovely.”

“I’m missing him now as I’m on tour with the Black Eyed Peas,” she added. “It’s been a month since we saw each other, but we talk every day. It helps that Josh is in showbiz, too.”

The singer will follow in her husband’s acting footsteps in the upcoming Rob Marshall-directed musical “Nine,” a film that put her opposite such Academy Award-winning Hollywood icons as Sophia Loren, Dame Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard and others.

“I was in awe of Sophia Loren – I couldn’t believe I was in the same room as her!” Fergie said. “We all got along brilliantly.”

The strong female cast was a nice break from the Peas, where the star said it can be tough being the only woman in the band.

“It is a lot of fun, but I can’t go out every night with them like I used to,” she said. “I have to be in for two hours of hair and makeup the next morning, and they don’t!”
